Tooth coloured fillings

Composite fillings are natural in appearance and are a popular and preferred alternative to silver (amalgam) fillings especially when restoring front or exposed teeth. The composite material can be colour matched to the shade of your tooth making your restored tooth indistinguishable from your natural teeth.

Crowns and Bridges

One of the strongest long-term solutions to restore a tooth back to its full function and appearance is a dental crown. Crowns are designed to cover a single tooth and are placed when damage or extensive dental work such as root canal therapy, a fractured tooth or tooth decay is too widespread for a filling to be used successfully. A bridge is a popular choice for replacing one or several missing teeth, helping to restore your smile. A bridge is made up of several “teeth units” and is secured to sound teeth on either side of the space. Receiving a crown or bridge can often be completed in two appointment visits.

Inlays and Onlays

Dental inlays and onlays are a type of restoration used to repair and strengthen damaged teeth. Inlays or onlays are used instead of normal white fillings when a harder, more resilient solution is required and are a more conservative option than a crown. An inlay is a smaller restoration which lies inside the cusps of the tooth. An onlay is generally larger and covers one or more of the tooth’s cusps. They are made in a dental laboratory from tooth coloured materials such as porcelain.
